Adel neighbourhood Forum
leeds local plan consultation
Following the approval of the Adel Neighbourhood Plan by residents in a referendum on 5 June and the subsequent formal adoption of the Neighbourhood Plan by Leeds City Council, the Neighbourhood Forum’s focus has switched to the new Leeds Local Plan which will guide planning decisions in the city up to 2042.
This is a major exercise by the Council and it will probably not complete until some time in 2027 / 28. However, once it is adopted it have a signficant impact on neighbourhoods so it is important for Adel residents to make their views known throughout the process.
The first consultation exercise closed on 15 September and the Forum submitted a comprehensive document of comments to the Council. More details about this can be found on the Leeds Local Plan page.
In addition recent years the Forum has started to take on the mantle of the old Adel Association to represent and inform the residents of Adel on wider matters than just planning. We are now maintaining a list of local shops and businesses on the Services page and are starting to advertise events and activities in the area on the Events page.
